This is a set of 4 puzzles in one box! The "American Homestead" Four Seasons Series are classic Currier & Ives lithographs, originally printed between 1866 and 1870! They are outstanding examples of American lithography.

The 4 puzzles included in the box can be put together by a group of people (4 people each taking a puzzle, or 2 people each taking 2 puzzles) for a fun race to the finish!

#172 American Homestead Spring (45 pieces)
#173 American Homestead Summer (50 pieces)
#174 American Homestead Autumn (45 pieces)
#175 American Homestead Winter (50 pieces)

Each puzzle has either 45 or 50 pieces and one figural - my "key" signature piece (signed, numbered and dated on the back). Puzzlers can each select a "key" and then work from there trying to solve their puzzle quicker than their opponent. Since all the pieces will be mixed together, it will not be readily obvious which pieces belong to which puzzle.

Each puzzle measures 4 1/2" X 6 1/2" and has been handcut from 1/4" 5-ply Baltic Birch, a very strong wood that will last for generations to come! See enlarged side view below. I cut this puzzle by hand the old-fashioned way, carefully guiding the wood into the thin blade of a scroll saw, cutting off one piece at a time, using blades with a thickness of just 0.008! There is an average of 1.6 pieces per square inch.

Puzzle was cut in my Spiral Cut and is highly interlocking. Each little puzzle can be picked up in one piece. Random selection of pieces shown below. Cut one piece at a time freehand, no two are alike!

Since there are 4 puzzles included, there are also 4 signature pieces (keys)! Each puzzle has one. This is the first and only time to date that I have included 4 puzzles in one box.

Puzzles come disassembled inside the beautiful wood box with hinged lid shown below. I purchased this box new and finished the outside with stain and varnish. I believe this is basswood. My label is affixed inside of the lid with the puzzle title, number, and piece count. This box measures measures 8 1/2" X 5 1/4" X 3 1/2" high.

Note: This puzzle contains small pieces which may present a choking hazard to children. It has been designed for adults or older children and is not meant for young children.
